Amal Said is a man with a doctoral degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of Casablanca, which he earned in June 1995. He also holds a Diploma of Medical Specialty (DSM) in Dermatology from the same institution, which he obtained in July 2000. In November 2000, he was admitted to the competition of Assistant Professor in Dermatology at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Marrakech. He completed his specialized training in dermatology at the Victor Segalen University in Bordeaux, earning a certificate in April 2004, and an Interuniversity Diploma in Cosmetology, Aesthetic Surgery and Dermatology in June 2004.
Amal Said has been a Professor in Dermatology at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy since April 2006, and has served as the Head of Dermatology Department at CHU Mohammed VI since January 2009. In 2010, he became a Professor of Higher Education. Amal Said has held various leadership positions in professional associations, including President of the Moroccan Association of Pediatric Dermatology since 2015, Vice President of the Moroccan Association of Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) from 2016 to 2019, and President of the Moroccan Association of Dermatology and STD since 2019. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Moroccan journal of dermatology (electronic journal) and the Coordinator of the psoriasis group of the Moroccan Society of Dermatology.
Amal Said’s contributions to dermatology research are well-documented, with several of his publications indexed in PubMed. His publications include research on various topics, including lipoid proteinosis and coeliac disease, COVID-19 in patients with pemphigus, and bullous pemphigoid associated with acquired hemophilia A. He has also published research on leishmaniasis, tufted angioma with Kasabach-Merritt syndrome, and the potential of adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in wound healing.
In addition to his academic and research achievements, Amal Said has also held leadership positions in professional associations, including General Secretary of Teachers Association of the Faculty of Medicine of Marrakech from 2013 to 2016, and President of the Reflection Group of Dermatologists of the Southern area (GRDVS Marrakech) from 2008 to 2022. He is also a member of the French Society of Dermatology.
