Dr. Maria-Angeliki Gkini qualified from the Medical School of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. She is an MSc holder in International Medicine-Health Crisis Management and she further pursued her interest in research by completing her PhD. Her thesis examined the safety and efficacy of platelet rich plasma in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia. She completed her dermatology training at Barts Health NHS Trust in London and she has worked, at the same Trust, as a consultant Dermatologist. She then worked as a research fellow in Confocal Microscopy inNew York City. Currently,she isa Consultant Dermatologist at 401 General Army Hospital in Athens, Greece and a Consultant Dermatologist and Hon Senior Lecturer at Barts Health NHS Trust and Queen Mary University in London, UK. She has been a principal and sub-investigator in numerous multicenter studies. She has participated as a speaker at many national and international congresses and she has published her research in international peer-reviewed journals. Dr Gkini has also been awarded numerous prizes and grants by prestigious institutions and organisations, such as the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, the British Association of Dermatologists or the Royal College of Physicians. Her special interests include hair disorders, inflammatory skin diseases, psychodermatology and Artificial Intelligence.
