Dr.FreemanMD Ph.D. FAAD is Director of Global Health Dermatology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School.She has worked to improve healthcare, especially for those affected by HIV, in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and southeast Asia since 2003. She has collaborated with the World Health Organization since 2011, to establish guidelines for treating HIV-associated skin conditions in the developing world. She is the founding Chair of GLODERM, the International Alliance for Global Health Dermatology.She has continued her work on guidelines and is immediately past Chair of the Clinical Guidelines Committee for the AAD.She is the founding Chair of GLODERM, the International Alliance for Global Health Dermatology.She is a member of the AAD’s Ad Hoc Task Force on COVID-19. She is the Principal Investigator of the international COVID-19 Dermatology Registry, which is a collaboration between the AAD and the ILDS. She has authored numerous publications on COVID-19 dermatology and COVID-19 vaccines and has been featured for her work on COVID-19 in the lay press in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and NPR, among others. She received a 2021 Presidential Citation from the American Academy of Dermatology for her work on COVID-19.
