He was the founder of several interactive e groups includingACAD_IADVL.

Based on his proposals conference names,such asDERMAZONE, DERMACONandCUTICONhave been recognized and accepted as the official names of Dermatology conferences in India.

Today his name is inseparable with an extremely familiar entity among the dermatologist community in India,TSDFor Topical Steroid Dependent/Damaged Face. This term was coined by him.

As the founder chairperson of the countrywideIADVL Taskforce Against Topical Steroid Abuse(ITATSA)he became the face of a historic andepoch making mammoth movement of Indian Dermatologists.

He has received theInternational League of Dermatology Societies(ILDS) prestigious Certification of Appreciation(CoA) award.Honoured foroutstanding leadership, with special recognition from the Rutgers State University of New Jersey and New Jersey Medical School Chapter of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society.

Prof Lahiri was recognized for his incredible volunteer contributions to the field of dermatology and for patients in India and was selected as the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Members Making a Difference award winner for the first quarter, 2018.
