Management of Dermatological Delusional Disorders

Delusions of parasitosis, Morgellons syndrome, and other variations of delusional disorders are perhaps some of the biggest unmet needs in the field of dermatology. This lecture is not only going to cover the use of some selected medications known to be effective in the treatment of dermatological delusional disorders but just as importantly,it will cover one psychodermatologist’s approach to connecting with these patients and convincing them to try taking these oral medications. Therefore, in order to successfully manage delusional patients,it is important to know both the art and the science of delusional disorders encountered in dermatology practice.
