Pyoderma gangrenosum(PG) is one of rare neutrophilic dermatoses. It is destructive,non-
infectious and characterized with necrotizing ulcers that have blue-purple undermined
borders.Although etiopathogenesis is not clear, immune system abnormalities including
neutrophil dysfunction, T cells and cytokines based on genetic background may be
considered responsible. Clinical misdiagnosis is common due to variable clinical
presentations and the absence of particular findings to support the diagnosis . Delayed
diagnosis can precipitate serious clinical outcome. PG may be a presenting sign of
underlying disorders. Thus timely diagnosis and treatment is crucial. Local wound care and
systemic immunosupressants used in adequate period and doses are necessary for optimal
treatment.
