Dr. Dimitre Dimitrov graduated from medical school in his native town Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. His
specialty is in the field of Dermatology and Venereology which he obtained from the Medical University Sofia, Bulgaria.
His early professional development placed him in charge of patients with sexually transmitted diseases, in a specialized Dermato-Venereological Hospital. Following his experience in Bulgaria, Dr. Dimitrov took a position in Libya where he worked in general dermatology. Later, he moved to the United Arab Emirates where he works.
Dr. Dimitrov has worked in various fields during his career development: general dermatology, STD, dermato-surgery, phototherapy, and lasers in dermatology.
For the last few years, his main interest has been in the field of psycho-cutaneous medicine. He conducted research regarding the Stigmatization experience among patients with psoriasis in UAE. Dr. Dimitrov has a number of publications in peer review medical journals. He is also an author of a book chapter published last year in “Psycho-dermatology in Clinical Practice”
Dr. Dimitrov is a member of ESDaP (European Society for Dermatology and Psychiatry), AAD, and EADV, and frequently participates in psycho-dermatological events. He has presented at several international conferences around the world, more notably in UAE, the UK, and the USA.
