Professor and Chair in Dermatology, Director, Dermatology Research Center The University of Queensland Diamantina Institute. Professor Soyer is a world leader in preventative dermato-oncology. In 2007 he moved to Australia from Austria, as the inaugural Chair and Director of the University of Queensland (UQ) Dermatology Research Center and Director of the Princess Alexandra Hospital Dermatology Department, in Brisbane. He has an extensive publication record with more than 200 publications in the last five years and an H-index of 57 (Researcher ID). He initiated and is co-leader of the Australian Skin and Skin Cancer Research Center, a joint collaboration between UQ and QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute. He was co-president of the 2017 9 th World Congress of Melanoma, Brisbane. He is the lead investigator of the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia (NHMRC) Center of Research Excellence for the Study of Naevi, and also leads the Australian Cancer Research Foundation Australian Center of Excellence in Melanoma Imaging and Diagnosis, a consortium of UQ , the University of Sydney and Monash University. He has a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Practitioner Fellowship (2018-2022), and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (AAHMS).
