Muriel CORNET is a medical biologist, a Professor at the University Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and a Hospital Practitioner in Parasitology-Mycology at the Grenoble Alpes University Hospital. She teaches Parasitology-Mycology at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the UGA. She specializes in Mycology and her academic research work focuses on antifungal resistance and new antifungal targets. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the French Society of Medical Mycology. Her work in Madagascar focuses on the epidemiology and biological diagnosis of deep subcutaneous mycoses or implantation mycoses such as chromoblastomycosis, sporotrichosis and mycetomas, which are also neglected tropical diseases.
