HENRY W. LIM is the former Clarence S. Livingood chair and chairman of the Department of Dermatology (1997-2017), Henry Ford Health, Detroit, Michigan, USA.
Dr. Lim has served as president of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American Board of Dermatology, and International Union of Photobiology. In 2023, he was elected as president of the International League of Dermatological Societies. He has received 15 presidential citations from the AAD, and in 2020, he was awarded an Honorary Membership of the AAD. Dr. Lim is honorary member of the following international dermatological societies: Austria, France, the Philippines, China, the Baltics, Spain, Taiwan, Peru and CILAD.
He has published more than 570 articles and edited 11 textbooks, and is recognized as a leading international expert on photodermatology

Epidemiological, policy, and technical aspects of NTDs
As a Technical Officer, NTDs at World Health Organization, I work with national and regional partners to implement, monitor, and evaluate programs for the prevention, control, and elimination of neglected tropical diseases. I apply my clinical and public health skills to support evidence-based interventions, health system strengthening, and policy development for NTDs.
I have a Master's in Public Health from Mahidol University and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Kathmandu University. Before joining WHO, I was a Research Fellow at Kathmandu Institute of Child Health, where I conducted clinical research on child and adolescent health issues. I also have experience as a Lecturer for Community Medicine, a focal person for Covid-19 response, and a NCD and Mental Health Officer at WHO. I am passionate about improving the quality of life through health communication, education, and adapting to newer methods in global health..

Dr Mahesh Shah is the Medical Director at Anandaban Hospital, The Leprosy Mission Nepal. Dr Archana Singal (MD, FAMS) is the Director Professor and head of the Department of Dermatology & STD, University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. She has been a teaching faculty for over 30 years. She is the Founding President of the Nail Society of India (NSI), established in 2012 (2012-2020). Her chief areas of interest include nail disorders including nail surgeries and tropical dermatology. Prof. Singal is the Editor-in-Chief of Indian Journal of Dermatology Venereology & Leprology (IJDVL), the highest impact dermatology journal from Asia. She has published over 270 scientific journal articles, and has contributed more than 50 chapters related to skin and nail disorders in numerous standard textbooks. She has been the Editor of the book ‘Comprehensive Approach to Nail Disorders’.

Dr Ewan A. Langan became the current Editor-in-Chief of “Skin Health and Disease” in 2023 having
served as Deputy Editor from 2020. He is the lead for translational Dermato-Oncology at the
University Clinic of Schleswig-Holstein in Lübeck, Germany and an honorary Clinical Lecturer at the
University of Manchester, UK. Dr. Langan is a UK-trained Dermatologist who has completed specialist
training in both Dermatology (UK) and Dermatology and Venerology (Germany). The first Walport
Academic Clinical Fellow to be appointed in Dermatology in the UK in 2006, he completed his initial
Dermatology training in Manchester before securing an MRC Clinical Training Fellowship which
enabled him to pursue his research interests in cutaneous neuroendocrinology, leading to the award
of his PhD (University of Manchester) in 2014. Having been awarded funding from the German Centre
for Infection Research, Dr. Langan has more recently focused on the role of the microbiome in
both inflammatory skin disease and skin cancer.

Understanding Chronic Itch in Neglected Diseases
Doctor, employed in the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology at the Piasts of Silesia Medical University in Wrocław as a research and teaching fellow, where she also pursues specialisation training in the same field. In 2022, she defended with distinction her doctoral thesis on chronic pruritus in diabetes mellitus.She has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including the prestigious Otto Braun-Falco Scholarship, for which she completed an internship at the University Hospital in Münster (Germany), where she gained experience in the treatment of pruritus and did research work. I’ve been fortunate to work in the field of dermatology for over two decades, focusing on conditions that not only affect the skin but also have broader impacts on patients' mental health and well-being.I have been working in Leprosy clinic for more than 10 years after I joined PGIMER. I have published about 280 papers in peer reviewed journals and have contributed to more than 25 chapters in Textbooks of Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry and Paediatrics.
My interest in neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) like leprosy and cutaneous leishmaniasis has grown through my involvement in various research and clinical initiatives. As part of the IADVL Special Interest Groups on Leprosy and NTDs, I’ve tried to highlight how these diseases affect individuals beyond just the physical symptoms, particularly focusing on the stigma and mental health challenges they face.
In addition, I’ve developed a deep interest in psychodermatology—understanding the connection between the skin and the mind. Chronic skin conditions often require us to look at both physical and psychological care. I believe that offering comprehensive care that includes mental health support is essential for improving the quality of life for patients.
It’s been a rewarding journey, and I feel grateful to contribute to these important areas of dermatology. My goal is to continue learning and helping those who are often neglected or stigmatized due to their conditions.

Dr Arshi Farista (MBBS, DDVL) is a board certified general, surgical and cosmetic dermatologist. She received her MBBS degree from Dr Vasantrao Pawar Medical college, Nashik (MUHS) and her postgraduation degree with a gold medal from the prestigious JJM medical college, Davanagere (RGUHS). She also holds a certificate in medical cosmetology and aesthetics from the famed Dr Jamunapais Institute for Medical and Aesthetic Cosmetology.
She is a member of the Indian Association of Dermatologist, Venerologist and Leperologist (IADVL) and also a life member of Associations of Cutaneous Surgeons (I) ACS(I). Dr. Henry Foong Boon Bee is one of Malaysia’s leading experts in Dermatology, and currently the Chairman of Dermatology Chapter and the Past President of Dermatological Society of Malaysia. He is a board member of the NSR Dermatology Evaluation Subcommittee of the MMC.
He graduated with an MBBS degree from the University of Malaya. His internal medicine and dermatology training was received at the UHKL and at the Department of Dermatology, HKL. He is one of the Genodermatosis researcher leaders in Mexico and Latin-American, after one year spent at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (Hospital Clinic I Provincial) Spain, learning Dermatopathology he moved to learn Immunofluorescence techniques for the Diagnosis of Immunoblistering and Autoimmune disorders at St. Johns Institute of London in the Kings College London.
In Mexico,1994 he founded The Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullous Research Association Mexico (DebRA Mexico), a nonprofit association to give support to the patients with a rare genetic disease; Epidermolysis Bullosa.

Contributions to Science
As a founder of Dystrophic epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association in Mexico (DebRA) his main field of work has been EB. His work on EB, started in 1994 with the first publications reporting this disease in Latin America, his collaborations have demonstrated how some patients present a phenotype that is opposite to the genotype of the mutation. He has studied a group of EB patients that have survived for over 60 years with an aggressive disease variant without suffering from squamous cell carcinoma. In collaboration with Dr. Angela Christiano, they worked on a study utilizing CRISPR Cas-9 techniques to produce 3D models of skin with the idea of grafting the wounds of EB patients.
In the year 2012, he published on the JAAD joural, with international collaboration the second scoring system in the history of this disease: the Epidermolysis Bullosa Oropharyngeal Severity (EBOS) score: a multicenter development and reliability assessment. This score attempts to evaluate the severity of EB in the oropharyngeal cavity, which is many times is forgotten upon physical examination of these patients.
For the last 20 years, his collaboration with Andrew South in molecular research for Squamous Cell Carcinoma that affects these patients has allowed for a deeper understanding regarding the aggressiveness of this often-fatal cancer.
As a part of DebRA International and his interest in collaborating to improve patients quality of life he has published in 2016 at the BJD, The Management of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma in patients with epidermolysis bullosa: best clinical practice guidelines.
In the year 2021, he published in J Rare Dis; Physiotherapy for epidermolysis bullosa: clinical practice guidelines.
He has contributed in a multitude of studies for mutations such as Hypohidrotic EctodermalDysplasia, GAPO Syndrome, Olmsted, palmoplantar keratoderma punctata, Pseudoxanthoma elasticum and other genetic diseases.
His last contribution is proposing haematohidrosis and haematolacria as a possible genetic disease by realizing the first exome sequencing study, finding genes related to the extracellular matrix as a possible cause. He was also the first to use the term trichorrage by demostrating how the erythrocytes exit through the pillous folilicle..

ISAD Open WHO course in AD on black skin
Alain Taïeb is professor emeritus of Dermatology at Bordeaux University. He established theNational Reference Centre for Rare Skin Disorders in 2005. He was until 2019 Director of INSERM 1035 research lab “Biotherapy of genetic diseases, inflammatory disorders and cancer” (BMGIC). He set up the European Task Force on Atopic Dermatitis in 1990, and the Vitiligo European Task Force in 2003, which are the current official ad hoc tasks forces of the EADV. He has authored more than 700 articles in peer-reviewed journals and more than 60 chapters in multiauthored books. In addition, he published “History of Atopic Dermatitis” with Dr Wallach and Tilles, in 2004, and two textbooks “Neonatal Dermatology” with Drs Enjolras, Wallach and Vabres (2009) and “Vitiligo” with Dr Picardo (2010- second edition 2019). His major topics of interest are pediatric dermatology, genodermatoses, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo and pigment cell disorders. He has received several awards and distinctions from the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, the European Society of Pediatric Dermatology, the International League of Dermatological Societies, the American Skin Association, and the European Society for Pigment Cell Research. H factor 68 (WoS). Dr Taïeb is currently President of the International Society of Atopic Dermatitis (ISAD).
