New insights into the management of acne and rosacea

Professor Firas Al-Niaimi is a highly experienced and skilled consultant dermatologist, Mohs and laser expert with nearly 20 years’ experience and an international standing trained in some of the UK's top hospitals and fellowship-trained in dermatologic surgery and lasers at St. Thomas’ hospital in London where he continued to work there as an honorary consultant for a number of years before moving to fulltime private practice. His passion for education, research and science has led him to publish over 210 publications in Dermatology and lasers including his own published book and 10 book chapters making him one of the most prolific and well-published consultant dermatologists in the UK. In addition to this he has delivered more than 400 scientific presentations in 55 countries around the world including keynote lectures at prestigious international conferences. His contribution to British dermatology was such that in 2019 he was awarded the “Global excellence award” for the title of consultant Dermatologist of the year in London and his success culminated in 2021 to the highest academic rank in medicine being awarded the title professor making him the UK’s first and only professor in the field of laser dermatotology

He is past president and current Executive Secretary of Association for Psychocutaneous Medicine of North America. He has more than 170 scholarly texts and publications to his credit on various psychodermatologic topics. He is the co-editor and author of books on Pediatric Psychodermatology, Geriatric Psychodermatology, Stress and skin disorders, Psychotrichology, Trichotillomania and authored two books on Essentials of Psychodermatology and Handbook of Psychodermatology, which is translated into Russian, Chinese and Turkish languages. Ayilkin Celik is a junior doctor from Turkey. She graduated from Pleven Medical University, Bulgaria, in May, 2021. Currently, she is volunteering for the Accretia Research Initiative Automated machine learning for diagnosis of melanoma skin lesions.She participated in numerous research projects in the fields of biochemistry, immunology, dermatology, and public health over the course of her medical studies. She took part in the Scientific Commission of the 16thInternational Medical Scientific Conference for Students & Young Doctors (MDSC) and served at the Control Committee of the Association of International Medical Students of Pleven (AIMS). Ayilkin Celik actively participated in the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) throughout her medical education where she had the opportunity to coordinate regional and international projects on mental health and cultural competence for Ethics and Human Rights in Health programs of IFMSA.
